Can You Relate to Feeling 'Behind'?

HeyReader,

This girl from high school tried me. She slid in my DMs a few months after my graduation from college in 2013 and basically asked me why it took me so long to get out of school.

Truth was I didn't owe her nosy behind an explanation but I didn't know that then. She graduated from high school a year before me; I was class of 07 and she was class of 06.

Yes it took me 6 years to get out of college. I was a 'late bloomer' when it came to this adulting stuff. College was the place where I tried to party my way through my pain, and would later find out I had C-PTSD from being abused, having sickle cell and being molested as a kid. But in the middle of this season, I would have a radical encounter with The Holy Spirit that jolted my life back on track and I would later graduate from college with honors.

I was not a late bloomer, I was a trauma survivor. And the greatest thing I needed that God provided was the emotional safety and space to bloom in my own time and season. If you can identify with the shame of feeling like you're behind in life, I open up about this in my latest podcast episode, go take a listen.
